For the 3.7 it calls out 5w20. Other models also have different oil capacities, and it’s important you know the oil capacity of your truck before you do the maintenance. I know the car calls for 5w30.

The proper oil is 5w30 fully synthetic and only this is recommended the 1.0 ecoboost is not the same engine its part based on the sigma but is a totally different engine.the 2006 is a duratec not an ecoboost again whilst the ecoboost uses the same ti vct system as the 2006 car the engine design and tolerances are different as are the oils recommended the ti vct. I ran 5w20 in my 98 for about 10k miles, then i switched back to the 5w30 the truck calls for and it had a rattle at start up with the 5w20 that is now gone with the correct weight 5w30 in it. The fact that they went to the expense of adding the equipment, complication and risk of using two different oils in the same plant should tell you how important they think the change is.

In laymans terms 5w30 will prolong engine life but reduce power output (negligable) and 5w20 will shorten engine life but will free up more power (again, negligable). 5w30 will be fine, it has to do with cafe standards. I run 5w30 full synthetic in a boosted 5.4l 3v.
